Burger King Manager Faces Jail Time For Trashy Food Tampering

On July 9, 2023, Jaime Christine Major, the assistant manager of a Burger King restaurant in South Carolina, faced a serious predicament when accused of food tampering. She was taken into custody after allegedly serving customers discarded French fries taken from the trash.

The matter unfolded when the Union Police Department responded to a disturbance at the fast-food establishment, involving two women who were causing a scene and making verbal threats to the staff. Both women were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

However, the situation escalated when Burger King headquarters informed the police about Major’s unsettling practice. She reportedly combined freshly cooked fries with those retrieved from the trash, serving them to unsuspecting customers. She would place the fresh fries on top of the discarded ones.

As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for Major’s arrest, charging her with food tampering, which is considered a felony offense. The authorities mentioned that if she is convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Her bail was set at $20,000, and she was apprehended and held at the Union County Detention Center.
