Perez v. Sturgis Public Schools
The Supreme Court’s final case of the month is set to be heard on January 18. In which a deaf student and his family settled with a Sturgis Public School after the student claimed to have been denied a qualified sign language interpreter for 12 years in 2018. The settled claims were under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, but now the Supreme Court is set to consider if the case has grounds to stand on with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
