The Eurasia Group has released its annual forecast of political risks that will likely play out over the year. Emerging from the pandemic with a weird midterm season, strengthening European Union and NATO, the top risks come from a small group of individuals who have amassed power by making geopolitical decisions that have large-scale consequences. The top risks are in the direction of Russia’s leadership, China, weapons of mass disruption, and Iran. Without oversight, expert inputs, or checks and balances for their actions, these factors are set to cause potential damage – especially for the United States, human development, and democracy.
The Eurasia group set out with their yearly report to discuss where the country is and where it is going. To read the full report check out the Eurasia group.
