Search Is On For Missing Florida Boy After He Fell Off Boat

Saturday afternoon a boy fell overboard a pontoon boat at Lake Annie near Dundee Florida, and the search for the 9-year-old is still underway. The boy was out on the lake with his two brothers and their father when he fell over the front of the vessel and was struck by the boat’s propeller. The father jumped into the water after the boy while one of the boy’s brothers called 911. Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue crews responded Saturday immediately though they have only been able to recover the boy’s shirt, which was wrapped around the boat’s propeller.

There have been efforts made by multiple organizations, such as the Shieff’s Underwater Search and Recovery Team, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, to locate the boy. However, they have not been successful in the almost four-day search so far. The boy was also not wearing a personal floatation device when he fell in the water, though it was not required by law.

This is a developing story as law enforcement still attempts to locate the boy.
