Minnesota Father Arrested For The Murder Of Daughter’s Boyfriend

A father in Brainerd Minnesota has been charged after allegedly executing his daughter’s boyfriend and burying him. 45-year-old Michael Lee Laflex was charged with second-degree intentional homicide after the body of 23-year-old Bryce Brogle was found in a makeshift grave Sunday. Laflex claimed he committed the crime because it was his belief that Brogle was abusing his daughter. Brogle has been missing since October 28.

Since October 28 when Laflex’s daughter reported her boyfriend missing, she said she had not seen or heard from him since he went to a storage unit with her father two days earlier. When police went to the storage unit to investigate the complaint, they found bleach and blood stains on the floor along with drag marks. At that time police conducted a search of the area near the storage facility, where they found Brogle’s body with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Police were tipped off that Laflex had mentioned he thought Brogle was abusing his daughter, and that he had admitted to shooting Brogle at the storage unit. It was also reported that Laflex had called Brogle’s landlord and asked if he had seen Brogle abusing his daughter. The landlord admitted he had seen Laflex’s daughter with two black eyes, at which point Laflex told the landlord he would kill Brogle.

Laflex is being held on a $2 million bond at the Crow Wing County Jail in Brainerd Minnesota.

This is not the first charge Laflex has received, as back in September of 2018 he entered a guilty plea for sexual conduct involving intercourse with a developmentally disabled person. During that trial, he was given five years of supervised probation.
