Two Officers Dead One Wounded After Being Lured to Ambush

Last Thursday two police officers in Bristol Connecticut were lured to a home where they were shot and killed. A 911 call Wednesday night came in with a reported dispute between siblings. Only now it appears that this was an attempt to get the police to report to the scene only to be killed. Bristol police sergeant, 35-year-old Dustin Demonte, and officer, 34-year-old Alex Hamzy, were killed while another officer, 26-year-old Alec Iurato, was wounded.

Police in Bristol have come out saying that one of the suspects 35-year-old Nicholas Brutcher was shot and killed, while the other 32-year-old Nathan Brutcher was wounded. The two suspects are brothers. Though it is not clear as to who fired the initial shots and who fired kill shots at this time.

Authorities have not answered many questions, though witnesses have said that they heard about three sets of gunshots. They have also mentioned hearing somewhere around 30 shots in total. One witness in particular has mentioned, according to The Guardian, that “[he] heard a whole war going on behind [him].”
