Man Kills 2 and Wounds 6 Others in Las Vegas

Last week 32-year-old Yoni Barrios was booked into Clark County detention center in Las Vegas after killing two people and wounding six others with a large kitchen knife. He was booked on two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder, three of the six victims were hospitalized under critical condition and the other three victims were in stable conditions according to Las Vegas police. Police began receiving 911 calls at around 11:40 a.m. from across the street from the Wynn casino and hotel. Police have said that they believe this is an isolated incident, and that Barrios is not a Las Vegas resident.

Barrios was detained by Sands security guards as he was running down the strip Thursday before police were called to the scene to make the arrest. Police are saying they will continue to investigate the incident to determine motive, and to rule out other suspects, though at this time police do believe Barrios acted alone.

Some of the victims were showgirls or street performers that posed for pictures on the strip. According to the boss of some of the victims, they believe that Barrios thought they were making fun of how he was dressed, which could be a potential motive.
