Last week Joshua Texas couple, 66-year-old Mike Scarlett and his wife 68-year-old Kay Scarlett, were found shot to death in their home. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office has ruled both deaths to be homicides. The local police do have a person in custody, a relative of the couple. This family member in custody however, has not been charged yet.
Mike Scarlett was a screenwriter and actor with a film, “The Cabin,” debuting Sunday, now marked as his last film. The death of the couple has shocked the small film community in Texas and the area of Joshua.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported yesterday that a family member requested a welfare check on the couple on Thursday, after they had not heard from the couple in several days. That is when the police discovered the couple in their home. The New York Post has reported that their truck was missing, only later to be found in the Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth parking lot. It is unclear as to why the two were murdered and so far there have been no further details released.
