A Christain pastor in the UK was arrested after saying that marriage is between a man and a woman.
The pastor was taken down from a footstool, handcuffed, and taken to jail. The authorities arrested him for violating the Public Order Act, this allows the police to remove individuals from the public space that are engaging in rhetoric deemed to be abusive or insulting.
The pastor was released the next day but is still under investigation by the Crown Prosecution Service, so he could be arrested again and charged at a later date.
The UK has become notorious over its hate crime rules, if an individual feels as if they have been targeted by a comment or feel victimized as a result of their race, gender identity, or religion the authorities will investigate the offending party for committing a hate incident.
