The latest target of cancel culture is the beloved cartoon character Speedy Gonzales.
New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow wrote about the Dr. Seuss debacle, which we have written about here and here, and in this article he mentioned the beloved cartoon characters Speedy Gonzales and Pepe Le Pew. Blow claims that Pepe Le Pew, the Warner Brothers skunk, promoted rape culture and Speedy Gonzales, the Warner Brothers mouse, popularized negative stereotypes about Mexicans.
The voice actor for Speedy Gonzales, Gabriel Iglesias, came out in a tweet condemning the cancel crowd for coming after his character.
I am the voice of Speedy Gonzales in the new Space Jam. Does this mean they are gonna try to cancel Fluffy too? U can’t catch me cancel culture. I’m the fastest mouse in all of Mexico 💨 pic.twitter.com/Ov4wjO00kM

It is rare to see a Hollywood actor like Iglesias to stand up against the woke mob, but it is a good sight to see none the less. Luckily for Iglesias, others are standing up to defend the beloved character as well.
From Fox News:
The two decades-old “Looney Tunes” characters were in peril recently after a New York Times columnist took issue with them in an op-ed about six nixed Dr. Seuss books.
The essay prompted Latino fans of Speedy to push back on Twitter.
“I loved watching Speedy Gonzales growing up,” wrote one user, @soytaquitobelle. “He always outsmarted the ones trying to catch him or attack him. I’m Mexican. I don’t want him ‘cancelled.’”
I don’t know why Speedy Gonzales is trending, but I will say this:
I loved watching Speedy Gonzales growing up. He always outsmarted the ones trying to catch him or attack him.
I’m Mexican. I don’t want him “cancelled.”

If we are going to go after people and companies for stereotypes then the Light of the Cancel Culture should be focused on Disney. Look at the movie Dumbo. After getting DRUNK, in front of an audience of Children, Dumbo and his little rat friend get hooked up with a bunch of Black Birds who sound like the stereotypical Black People of the old-time movies and even sing a jazz type song using a Black Jazz song type, I believe is called Scatt. One of my favorite singers for this type of song is Ella Fitzgerald. So based on the unknown criteria for Canceling Things, Dumbo has got to go. What about Snow White, hanging out with a bunch of Dwarfs? Although they did work in a Dimond Mine, we never find out if it belongs to them or ar they being exploited by the White King and forced to work until dark for their shanty of a house, with no indoor plumbing (they had to go outside to wash up for dinner).
It look like mr. blow do not like mexican rats, sorry about your bad luck mr. speedy.
One azz h-o-l screwing it up for EVERYONE!!
Folks, it doesn’t get much more AMERICAN than that!!!!!!
Sounds like this NY Times columnist Charles Blow, has some deep seated issues.
…and then on Monday they cancelled ALL actors, actresses, entertainers and weathermen f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Everyone cheered.
The characters Speedy Gonzales and Pepe le Pew are cute characters that have been around longer than most of these sewer rats that constitute the so-called “cancel culture”. If anything should be cancelled it is these pipsqueaks that think they know something.
Cancel Culture, please get a life!
The new york time always been a paper full of stupid idiots asshole,
this counter culture , are nothing but bitter adults, and are impotent lap dogs, and very unhappy with themselves and their life, so to make themselves of any worth , to themselves, they have to tear down something that was better than they, even on their best LOOSER LIFE day. So maybe tear down the one cartoon character most like themselves, THE WILE E COYOTE , he never wins anything. which in my opinion they are they WILE E.COYOTE.
Wow! Some people really need a life. This is really sad to see some people triggered by a long ago cartoon that was great for so many but then again, I was just a kid enjoying the cartoons. I’m obviously messed up.
