Twitch Shredded Online After “Womxn” Tweet

Twitch, a streaming platform owned by Amazon, was slammed online after tweeting about “Womxn’s” history month.

Twitch tweeted the following to announce their support of Women’s History Month:

March is Womxn’s History Month.

Join us in celebrating and supporting all the Womxn creating their own worlds, building their communities, and leading the way on Twitch.

The company was immediately rocked with backlash after the tweet and quickly took it down. Unlike many stories in recent history this managed to unite the left and right, both of which got in punches over the comically bad tweet.

Robby Starbuck, who announced he is running for Congress at CPAC, got his jabs in saying “Womxn is not a real word. They’re called women and they’re born with XX chromosomes + a female reproductive system.”

On individual who identifies as a “Trans Lesbian Foxgirl” had a hilarious quip.

From The Daily Wire :

“According to dictionary.com, which began defining ‘womxn’ in 2019, the term is considered ‘an alternative spelling [of women] to avoid the suggestion of sexism perceived in the sequences m-a-n and m-e-n, and to be inclusive of trans and nonbinary women,’” the New York Daily News reported.

In June 2020, Twitch banned former President Trump. “Trump’s account was banned for ‘hateful conduct that was aired on stream, and Twitch says the offending content has now been removed,” The Verge reported.

A Twitch spokesperson stated, “Like anyone else, politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not make exceptions for political or newsworthy content, and will take action on content reported to us that violates our rules.”
