An anonymous donor has offered a large sum to destroy the guns used in the Las Vegas shooting. Las Vegas Now reports:
The guns used to kill 58 people and inure hundreds more will likely be destroyed, thanks to money from an anonymous donor.
The gun collection Stephen Paddock used the night of the 1 October shooting was valued at approximately $62,300. Some suggested the guns should be sold to benefit victims and their families.
A San Francisco software developer is offering $62,500 to ensure the guns are destroyed. He told CNN and the New York Times he believes the families would feel better if the weapons are gone.
The special administrator overseeing Paddock’s estate said the donation and destruction still needs court approval. A hearing should happen before March.
The investigation closed, but the fact that no motive was ever discovered has sparked numerous questions.
