It looks like there’s trouble in the Romney family: the RNC Chairwoman, Mitt’s niece, criticized him for his anti-Trump oped. The Daily Wire reports:
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel criticized failed presidential candidate and Utah’s Sen.-elect Mitt Romney on Wednesday. McDaniel is Romney’s niece.
Romney recently wrote a scathing op-ed about President Donald Trump’s character, a piece which was predictably widely praised by the Left.
“POTUS is attacked and obstructed by the MSM media and Democrats 24/7,” reads a tweet from McDaniel’s. “For an incoming Republican freshman senator to attack [Donald Trump] as their first act feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive.”
McDaniel was responding directly to President Trump’s tweet about Romney. “Here we go with Mitt Romney, but so fast! Question will be, is he a Flake?” Trump asked in a tweet, referring to the outgoing anti-Trump Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake. Like Romney, Flake became a Democrat favorite for his anti-Trump rhetoric.
It’s time that Republicans unite against Democrats, and failed presidential candidates should not throw wrenches in the conservative agenda.
