Does Newt Gingrich Have A Surprise for America?

Newt Gingrich was spotted at the White House, claiming he was only visiting and not interviewing for the role of chief of staff. The Washington Examiner reports:

Newt Gingrich said Thursday he was at the White House this week to see the Christmas decorations, not to interview to be President Trump’s next chief of staff.

“No,” the former House speaker said on Fox News when asked if he’s a candidate. “As you pointed out, I went to the White House yesterday to see the decorations. We wanted to see what Melania had done.”

“Several reporters saw me … and that promptly jumped to, ‘Oh, are you being interviewed?’ No, I was actually just wandering around just looking at decorations. It was Christmas.”

“I was there as an American citizen looking at one of the most famous of American buildings,” he said.

A Gingrich selection would not be surprising however. He has the legislative experience that would be an excellent bridge to Congress, something that General Kelly, despite all his other qualities, did not have.
