Linsey Graham will be the next Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, replacing Chuck Grassley who will move to Finance. Fox News reports:
Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa announced Friday he will step down as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee so he can lead the Senate Finance Committee in the next congress, paving the way for South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham to become the Judiciary Committee’s next chairman.
Grassley and Graham both played high profile roles in the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, standing out as staunch defenders of Kavanaugh.
Grassleypreviously served as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee in 2001 and again from 2003 to 2007.
Based on seniority, Graham is poised to be named chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Graham, a close ally of President Trump, would oversee the president’s judicial nominations.
Lindsey’s spectacular defense of Kavanaugh, which earned him the praises of many former enemies on the right, will reinvigorate the judicial nomination process and make sure that conservative judges who follow the Constitution are placed on the bench.
I’ll wait until I see some action from him before I congratulate him. I remember too many sellouts in the last 10 years before I think he may have changed his spots.
I have also noticed that since the death of McCain. Sen. Graham seems to be stronger in his desire to hold onto our conservative values.
Finally the right person put into the right job! Let us hope that some positive changes come about in our current corrupt FBI & DOJ personnel and agencies. It is imperative that we get into the weeds and show light on proof for the Hillary email and fake dossier debacle, not to mention the worst deal in giving the Russians our uranium which was really stupid and what I consider a treasonous act.
Although we don’t have the house, the Senate can be much more powerful if those that lead it remain undaunted in their tasks to prove Hillary’s lawlessness and finally get some on the dem-on’s side indicted for their bad actor skills which helped to fuel this mess to begin with.
I believe that once Hillary or any of her cohorts in crime get indicted, put on trial, and sentenced to time like the rest of us would “IF” we had done what she did, then it may be possible that these leftist, socialist radicals will think twice about accusing any other person without “presenting” specific proof. You actually just need one high profile arrest like a Clinton to stop others from causing such havoc again and instead they may crawl back under the rock where they have come from so the rest of us could finally enjoy our lives in America’s safety, and our own abilities to keep what we earn, and also to continue to lessen government influence and intrusion into our own home lives. PERIOD!
Nicely said. It is time to expose the bad actors for what they are and as you said, With indictments comes less corruption with consequences. In my opinion Hillery is the
Ring leader of the corruption and Obama is her advisor. Starting with Bengazi.
Not a surprise and a very good replacement. Maybe Graham will be even tougher than Grassley and not allow all this ridiculous filibustering.
Dear Mr Senator Lindsey Graham, If the Democrats did Voter fraud in Florida you can bet or even guarantee that the Democrats did voter fraud in all of the other States. I will put money on it.
this is good news.
now Trump needs to FIRE ROD ROSENSTEIN AND MUELLER.
BOTH CRIMINALS AND TRAITORS.
I had not been an ally of Graham because of his connections to JohnMcCain. It seems McCain’s death set Graham free. I was impressed with the new Graham. Unfortunately it seems he may have bought McCain’s false hero stories . As many did.
They were best friends, so he really couldn’t say anything else. Now that he doesn’t need to worry about McCain’s feelings anymore, he is cut loose to be who he really is. Most of us would stick up for and support our best friend until such time as it was no longer necessary. Now, let’s help Graham “go get ’em” every way we can.
we need a tough AG and fire Rod R., right now.
He should be placed in Gitmo – not just fired!!!
He and many others will pay the eternal price for their self-serving, godless actions.
After seeing Lindsey Graham’s passionate speech during Brett Kavanaugh’s hearing, I am extremely happy to see him take this new position.
