Democrats who were calling for the firing of Jeff Sessions have already called for investigations when Trump did what they asked. The Washington Examiner reports:
Democrats in the House, newly positioned to commandeer chairmanships with their party taking the majority, seized on the sudden announcement of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ ouster from the Trump administration.
Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., who is poised to become the next chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said the panel would be “holding people accountable” soon after a resignation was announced.
“Americans must have answers immediately as to the reasoning behind @realDonaldTrump removing Jeff Sessions from @TheJusticeDept,” Nadler tweeted Wednesday afternoon. “Why is the President making this change and who has authority over Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation? We will be holding people accountable.”
