The Federal government is charging the Nazi killer with death penalty crimes to punish him for his egregious crimes. Fox News reports:
Federal prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the man accused of opening fire Saturday inside the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, killing 11 worshipers during the anti-Semitic rampage.
Marc Raimondi, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Justice, said the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania “has initiated the approval process” to seek the death penalty for 46-year-old Robert Bowers.
“The ultimate decision regarding capital charges rests with the U.S. attorney general, Jeff Sessions,” Maimondi told Fox News in a statement.
Bowers allegedly entered the Squirrel Hill area house of worship armed with an AR-15 rifle and three Glock handguns on Saturday morning, targeting three separate congregations, all of which were conducting Shabbat services.
This heinous crime has shaken the nation to its core, and is a stark reminder that antisemitism is still a very real threat, coming from far-right, far-left and Islamic radicals.
THE PURPOSE OF PUNISHMENT IS TO SET EXAMPLES FOR OTHER PEOPLE. AMERICANS HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT !

I am pretty sure the shooter kissed his life away before he went in
It is interesting that this is the only site that I have found to use the term “Nazi” to describe Bowers correctly! The WashPost, NYT, and LAT are too blinded by political correctness unless they are insulting Conservatives!
Sorry, but lefty, liberal Gov Wolfe has suspended the death penalty in PA. If he makes this exception, it will be a clear case of religious bigotry.

Even if PA suspended the death penalty, because this is being tried under federal law, the Feds can seek the use of facilities in any state that still has it.
I don’t know but the Feds may very well have their own facility to carry it out and whatever state it is in would have no say.
We have to keep the death penalty as a matter of common law. There is precedence as affecting the ability of self defense.
Since the perpetrator is being charged under federal law, if he is convicted and sentenced to death, it will be carried out at a federal facility. Federal prisons, no matter which state they are located in, are not subject to the whims of state governors that may have suspended the death penalty in their respective states.
