Giuliani Reveals Mueller’s New Deadline

Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and attorney to President Trump, said Sunday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller could be finished with the Russia investigation as early as Sept. 1.

Giuliani said the timing depends on whether Trump will be questioned.

“You don’t want another repeat of the 2016 election where you get contrary reports at the end and you don’t know how it affected the election,” Giuliani told The New York Times.

The former New York City mayor also said that an interview with the special counsel would be a distraction from the president’s scheduled meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Giuliani said last week Mueller would follow DOJ protocol from the Clinton era not to indict a sitting president, and therefore he would not indict Trump.
