U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay dismissed the lawsuit Ahmed “Clock Boy” Mohamed brought against the Irving Independent School District Wednesday, after he was wrongfully arrested for bringing a device to school that resembled a bomb.
The device at issue was a homemade clock, not a bomb. As Mohamed is a Muslim and the son of Sudanese immigrants, the incident was widely attributed to ethnic and religious stereotyping, prompting the lawsuit.
Mohamed’s father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, filed the complaint on his son’s behalf. The suit alleged that the school district discriminated against Ahmed on the basis of race and religion, in keeping with a long history of bigotry in the Irving schools. It also claimed his Fourth Amendment rights were infringed when authorities questioned him for over an hour and a half without his parents.
In turn, the city of Irving said administrators acted legitimately to ensure school safety, even if they were mistaken.

Clock boy should go back to Sudan or wherever and take his parents too. Must need clock makers there they are so behind the times.
In my opinion based on the information released immediately after the incident occurred the little muslim kid was “testing the waters” to see how far he could go without being challenged, most likely at his fathers coaxing. If anyone had brought in a clock mounted in/on a suitcase the very same response would have happened. Soon after the incident when the device was checked it was found to the kid did not build a clock as was reported but simply assembled a purchased clock fitted into a suitcase just like is customarily done by terrorist. The father and the son should have been thrown in jail for “disorderly conduct with intent to incite”. This wasn’t just a young boy building a science project.
