President Donald Trump has disbanded the CEO council that National Economic Council director Gary Cohn created as CEOs were abandoning their posts amid the president’s response to the Charlottesville, Virginia, incidents this past weekend.
Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!

The move is a significant blow to the influence of Cohn in the White House. Cohn, who was once rumored to be a candidate for chief of staff, was passed over for Gen. John Kelly when now former chief of staff Reince Priebus resigned. Cohn is still rumored to be a potential candidate for chairman of the Federal Reserve, but his chances at that are now waning too, as his level of control in the White House is dwindling by the minute.
There are reports that Cohn was “disgusted” with President Trump’s response to the Charlottesville incidents during a Tuesday press conference at Trump Tower in New York City.
Gary Cohn, NEC chair — who is Jewish — was 'disgusted' and "upset" by Trump's comments on white nationalists, per 3 ppl with knowledge

Leave it to the communist-leaning jew to stick his big nose into American politics. Good riddance.
What is the problem with the committee members, they were there to work on national problems concerned with jobs and building the economy. So why where they concentrating on riots and what Trump was saying. They stepped their toes in the wrong job that wasn’t theirs and burned their toes and ran. Well when the going gets rough the strong get going through the rough. How do they run businesses by running at any little problem. Problems change constantly, who needs people who run at something that doesn’t concern their job and wasn’t their problem. Their problem was the economy, the riots are President Trump’s concern not the business committee’s concern. Who threatened the committee members that they ran so fast.
The President of the USA (POTUS) is the president of ALL citizens. The Supreme Court has ruled the 1st Amendment applies to ALL speech, not just speech we personally like or with which we agree. That is the meaning of the Constitution. The President supported the Constitution! The leaders of American companies who have resigned advisory councils, have ignored a) President Trump has stated his opposition to hate on numerous occasions, it is one of his core values and b) they are choosing to fail those persons they claim to support, by refusing to offer their thoughts and suggestions on important issues of economics and growth, they are not heroes, just ANTI-TRUMP!
You stated the issue very well.
Lee Estabrook: You are right. I also read elsewhere where this committee was filled by Obama and that the committee had not even met yet. So, yes it is nothing but a political deal and these Obama people will not be missed and are not needed by President Trump. Thanks for your reply and nice to meet you.
Trump needed to get rid of the greedy minded business men. They are only a distraction to him, not here to help…all are liberals wanting to eat at Trumps’ table.
Bravo Pres. Trump!
However, if you think Trump is NOT a greedy-minded businessman himself, you should rethink that. Behind every fortune is a crime.
Said the beggar at the feast! Not every fortune is a crime, beggar.
