White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been named the new White House Press Secretary.
Friday morning, Anthony Scaramucci was named as the new White House communications director. Press Secretary Sean Spicer soon after announced his resignation. Spicer held his position just six months. He will remain in his position through August.
As Spicer attended to some of the duties regularly handled by a communications director, Sanders began conducting more of the White House press briefings. In a June 5 briefing, Sanders responded to reporter questions about Spicer’s absence, stating that Spicer’s position was “probably upgraded at this point.”
